" What inspires me to paint is a deep reverence for the innate beauty that surrounds us. I look beyond the obvious and find the beauty within the ordinary and mundane. I’ve discovered that I need to be very still to observe this, and it is always with much humility and awe that I strive to paint that alive essence into being.  My process involves engaging with the subject and using close observation to look past the obvious. My goal in all of my work is to strike the chord of inherent beauty that lies within the viewer."
